Humanitarian Crisis and Disaster Response

Although we do not include crisis relief as a regular grant field, we want to lend a helping hand when major humanitarian crises and disasters occur. At the same time, we are willing to support volunteerism in crisis by providing funds.

About Alternative Breaks Program

As a response to Hurricane Matthew in 2016, the Dao Feng and Angela Foundation (formerly known as Daofeng & Angela Foundation) provided an opportunity for students from Georgetown University to instill the sense of social responsibility by sponsoring the ABP Native Roots trip to Lumberton, North Carolina. A total of 14 students participated in the trip. The trip was primarily for disaster relief work such as housing reconstruction and other community services. The students also engaged with local heritage, explored natural environments, and did a walk through Eastern North Carolina to promote environmental protection.
