OUR IMPACT

Till 02/26/2025, the channel uploaded 31 videos, and achieved 1.45K subscribers and 4,253,110 views.

About the Project

Due to language barriers, first-generation Chinese immigrants or international students in the United States rely on limited sources of information, and therefore often lack a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the social problems and current situation in the United States.

In order to change this situation, Dao Feng and Angela Foundation (DAF) launched new category – “Education and Advocacy for Social Issues among Chinese-speaking people in the United States”, and supported a grassroots volunteer group to translate videos from PragerU and created a YouTube channel “普拉格中文翻译频道PragerU Chinese Translation Channel” to promote these videos among Chinese-speaking people in the United States. PragerU, short for Prager University, is a well-known American nonprofit that produces short, conservative educational videos on topics like politics, history, economics, and culture.

This channel was created by a grassroots volunteer group – PragerU fans in 2024. This initiative is designed to help Chinese-speaking individuals better understand American society and its focal issues.

*Disclaimer: PragerU opens the translation rights for different language. This channel is not affiliated with or managed by PragerU.

Through May to Aug  2024, 10 volunteers translated 31 PragerU’s videos into Chinese by using AI tools. The channel then used YouTube’s advertising system to target Chinese-speaking users over the age of 18 in the United States. The promotion adopted a horse racing mechanism. In the first round, the funds were evenly distributed among all videos, and the top 10 most watched videos were selected to enter the next round.

About Grants

In 2024, Dao Feng and Angela Foundation provided two gifts to support the PragerU Chinese Translation Channel. The first gift of $5,000 is for volunteers to purchase AI video translation tools to transform original videos to Chinese-speaking videos. The second gift of $100,000 is to promote the channel to targeted audiences – Chinese-speaking YouTube users over the age of 18  in the United States.

As of February 26, 2025, the channel has attracted 1.45K subscribers and achieved 4,253,110 views.
